'Beat the Bloat' Detox Water

Do you regularly feel bloated? Do you have an event coming up that you would like to slim down for? Look no further - this detox water is packed full of nutrients that specifically target the abdominal region- bloating specifically.

 

This recipe is for 24 oz of water, so if your're using a mason jar or smaller cup, you can use the same fruit up to 3 times. Each time you refill your glass or jug, the fruits become less nutrient-dense and more diluted- so after 3 times, just replace with fresh fruits. Also, don't leave your fruits in the water for any longer than 24 hours.

 

This detox water only has 4 ingredients: oranges, cucumbers, mint and lemon. They all work together specifically to beat the bloat. But how? Cucumbers prevent water retention and also have many anti-inflammatory properties. Lemon uses the cleansing effect of citric acid to help clear out your digestive system. Oranges contain flavanoids in the peel and juice that stimulate the immune system and protects against a fungi and bad bacteria. They also help to reduce cholesterol levels. Mint helps the body digest more easily and it also soothes any stomach cramps you may have.

 

So how do I make it?

 

In 24 oz of filtered water, combine the following:

 

- 3-5 slices of fresh cucumber
- 1/2 small lemon sliced
- 1/4 of orange sliced
- a few fresh mint leaves

 

If your're preparing for big event and want to lose the bloat, start drinking this a week ahead of time to help flush your body of toxins. Drink at least EIGHT cups (8 oz each) or more depending on your activity level and body weight.
